Taiwan is hosting “40 Days for Life” September 27 to November 5, as part of an international pro-life prayer movement, seeking God with a unified voice for an end to abortion in local communities. Already, 89 abortion centres have stopped doing abortions after the 40-day campaigns, which have taken place in hundreds of cities in 44 countries. Many thousands of women and men have changed their minds at the last moment, because of the peaceful and prayerful presence of participants who pray quietly outside local abortion centres.
First Time In Taiwan
This is the first time that Taiwan has held a 40 Days for Life campaign. Director Angel Tang was inspired by the international pro-life prayer movement, and also by the two previous campaigns in Hong Kong. She began work at Pregnancy Support Center, a pro-life pregnancy resource center in Taichung, after more than a decade of volunteer work with YWAM in Taichung and elsewhere.
Campaign volunteers expect more women to choose life for their children as a result of this 40-day campaign, and hope that churches will step up to provide practical assistance for those who need it. They are inviting many churches and individuals to join in this focused season of prayer and fasting, so that God will “turn the hearts of parents to their children”, and rescue Taiwan from the bloodshed of abortion.
